Deputy President William Ruto has been branded a liar by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairperson Wafula Chebukati for a comment he made last month.
Ruto asserted last month that 1 million voters from his strongholds had been switched with others.
Chebukati, however, refuted Ruto’s assertions in an interview with Citizen TV on Wednesday and cautioned Kenyans to be aware of politicians who are disseminating false information about the commission.
More specifically, Chebukati claimed that just 5000 voters had been transferred unlawfully, as opposed to Ruto’s claim that 1 million had been done so.
The transfer of 5,000 votes, not 1 million, was made, contrary to what the second in command had claimed, according to Chebukati.
