Deputy President William Ruto’s backyard was invaded by Raila Odinga and his running mate, Martha Karua, on Sunday in an effort to secure votes.
In a region that is thought to be William Ruto’s home territory, Raila received a warm welcome when she visited Bomet and Kericho Counties.
The Azimio leader and his running mate were given a symbolic key to State House, giving the impression that Raila Odinga had taken over Ruto’s stronghold as the front-runner for the 2022 presidential election.
While speaking to the public at Moi Gardens in Kericho town, Raila Odinga was approached by a member of the audience who gave him a symbolic key to the State House.
As a confirmation that he will occupy the State House for the ensuing five years, Raila could be seen enthusiastically accepting the symbolic key to the State House and unveiling it with his running mate Martha Karua in the video.
Raila pledged to close all the gaps being exploited by a few corrupt Kenyans throughout his tour.
When Raila and William Ruto are elected president, “those who have been dipping fingers in our national coffers will be forced to account for how they amassed the great fortune,” Raila declared in reference to William Ruto.
This occurs about a month after the former prime minister visited Narok County and received a gift of a painting of the Kenyan State House.
Raila claimed that the image, which has red roofing and white walls, represents his win in the General Election on August 9.
