Ndiritu Muriithi, the governor of Laikipia County, expressed his desire for the ground to split open and consume him on Saturday after receiving jeers in Othaya, Nyeri County.
Muriithi, the director of the campaign committee for Raila Odinga, the Azimio presidential candidate, was in Nyeri to rally support for his superior.
The rally went off without a hitch, but when Muriithi started criticizing Deputy President William Ruto, things started to go wrong.
Youths singing songs in support of the second in charge hushed the governor.
Muriithi’s most recent gaffe only serves to underline how slim Azimio’s chances of winning the Mt. Kenya area are becoming as election day draws near.
As his allies are greeted with open arms in contrast to those in the Azimio camp, Ruto already appears to have the upper hand in the Mt. Kenya area block.
The footage of Ndiritu Muriithi receiving jeers in Othaya is available here.
