Wafula Chebukati, the chairman of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), has denied rumors that there was a plan to smuggle ballots into the country from Uganda in order to rig the election.

This occurs as the first shipment of ballots for the elections in August has just arrived in the nation.

Chebukati allayed concerns in an interview that the IEBC was printing some presidential voting papers from Uganda.

According to Chebukati, “Today we will receive a number of ballot papers, and they are not from Uganda or some strange country, they are safe for the election, and there is nothing like extra ballot papers as certain politicians have alleged.”
