David Murathe, vice chairman of the Jubilee Party, has pleaded with Kenyans not to elect Deputy President William Ruto as their country’s next leader, claiming that his administration may be among the worst ever.
In an interview, Murathe listed five potentially disastrous decisions that Ruto would make if given the reins. He claimed that these choices might be punitive and would undermine attempts to advance democracy in the nation.
He first asserted that the DP would rule with an iron grip and was irritable. Murathe, a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta, made his argument by referencing a leaked audio clip in which Ruto is heard purportedly threatening to strike his boss.
