According to the statements of the Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe, it appears that President Uhuru Kenyatta’s backers are now hoping that Deputy President William Ruto defeats Azimio nominee Raila Odinga in the August presidential campaign.
Speaking yesterday, Murathe expressed concern over what would occur if Ruto loses the elections on August 9.
Murathe said the DP is likely to reject the results of the August elections, which he claims will cause difficulties for the nation, in a comment that has since gone viral.
“Ruto is a man who will sacrifice his life for power. What will happen when the man is defeated terrifies me much. You can’t be certain that he won’t give in,” he remarked.
However, the Jubilee leader stated that they are dedicated to making sure that the Mt. Kenya area supports Raila for the president, come what may.
He mentioned that they had effectively reduced the influence of the UDA party in the area.
“Our challenge was to first eradicate yellow fever in Mount Kenya. Azimio, we are currently painting the countryside blue. We base our calculations on study and intelligence. In Mount Kenya, Raila has edged out the DP, he continued.
Murathe is one of the numerous outspoken national leaders who have openly campaigned against the DP and abused him.
He was one of many who foresaw the consequences of President Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto’s actions.
He is presently supporting ODM leader Raila Odinga and his vice presidential candidate Martha Karua.
