Azimio After being nearly killed at Gusii Stadium on Thursday, Martha Karua, a Kenya Alliance presidential running partner, has now spoken out.
A man who was allegedly a police officer fired a tear gas canister at the VIP podium during the incident, prompting Karua to conclude her address early and be escorted out by her bodyguards.
The conference was disrupted and the leaders were led out of the Gusii stadium, according to a report by the Inspector General of Police. The disturbance was allegedly caused by the officer.
The Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Alliance presidential running partner, Hon. Martha Karua, presided over the public meeting where tear gas was released, and NPS wanted to tell the public that a preliminary inquiry into the matter has determined that a police officer is to blame for the occurrence.
The officer in question is currently being held in jail and aiding with additional inquiries to determine all the facts surrounding the incident. Read Bruno Shioso’s statement as the NPS spokesperson.
Karua, who continued her campaigning in Nyamira County on Friday, responded to the event by saying, “nimerudi ndio wajue hawatuwezi na fitina kidogo.”
