ODM leader Raila Odinga has finally spoken out about his alleged participation in the Jubilee government.
In an interview, Raila said that his only responsibility in the Jubilee government was to occasionally offer advice to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Odinga stated that it was up to the recipient to decide whether or not to follow the advice.
Kenyans are not ignorant. Kenyans are aware of my absence from politics. I do not receive a salary and do not reside in a government building. I don’t receive any government assistance. But I suggest. However, the counsel is only that—advice—and can either be followed or not, said Raila.
He denied claims made by William Ruto, the deputy president, and his Kenya Kwanza team that he is to blame for Kenyans’ continuing economic problems.
He slammed the DP for claiming that despite receiving millions in pay and benefits, state protection, and a convoy funded by the government, he is not a government official.
“It is unreasonable to condemn everything. Ask Kitendawili who is in government, says someone who has more than 250 government security guards at their disposal and is utilizing official vehicles for the campaign. He alleges that the government fired him. He said, “Lakini kama ulitolewa, basi jiuzulu.
In the interview, Raila reaffirmed his resolve to using his social safety program to free Kenyans from the grip of poverty.
He stated that he would donate his Sh 6,000 to help families who could not afford to buy basic essentials.
