After the horrors they performed during the MOI era, even RIGATHI GACHAGUA’s former colleagues are embarrassed to be associated with him.

The troubled past of Rigathi Gachagua, the running mate of Deputy President William Ruto, is returning to haunt him.

People who collaborated with Gachagua under the Moi regime, said Raila Odinga’s Azimio, are reluctant to publicly support him because of the wrongdoings they committed.

Adams Aloo, a friend of Raila’s and a political analyst, questioned why Rigathi Gachagua’s old colleagues had not openly endorsed his selection as William Ruto’s running partner like they had done for Martha Karua in an interview.

Since she was selected to be Raila Odinga’s running mate for the 2022 presidency, Martha Karua has gained support from a variety of organizations throughout the nation.

More recently, prominent Kenyan members of the Law Society of Kenya gave Karua, a lawyer by profession, their complete support.

Azimio was concerned since Gachagua has only recently been under fire for contentious comments he has made.

“You have witnessed the support that Martha Karua has received from the Muslim community and her peers. Have any notable DOs or former DOs shown up to support Rigathi Gachagua? Oloo posing.

Oloo claims that due to Gachagua’s unusual past, his former coworkers are embarrassed to support the Ruto-Gachagua ticket.

They are ashamed and are unable to come out and show the nation that they were a part of that evil period in our nation, Oloo remarked.

He added that many Kenyans are reminded of the suffering they went through under the previous administration by the Ruto-Gachagua ticket.

“The Kenya Kwanza Alliance ticket was in the bosom of that terrible regime when Kenyans were receiving scars in the country when Kenyans were being expelled and incarcerated,” he said.

Gachagua recently refuted allegations that he was aggressive and violent when serving as the late president Daniel Moi’s district officer (DO) and that he was prominently included in the Truth, Justice, and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC) report.
