A job offer from Rigathi Gachagua, the running mate of Deputy President William Ruto, was turned down by a 23-year-old former street youth who is competing for the Mathira parliamentary seat.
Daniel Kiige, a member of the Freedom and Justice Party running for the Mathira parliamentary seat, declined Gachagua’s invitation to withdraw from the campaign and support the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate.
In front of Gachagua, he declared that he would not be persuaded by any promises of a well-paying position in the incoming administration and that he would rather try his luck in the election.
