For the first time, Hollywood legend Sharon Stone opened up about her nine miscarriages with her husband Maks Chmerkovskiy.

The 64-year-old Basic Instinct actress talked about her loss in a comment on a People Instagram post where Dancing With The Stars contestant Peta Murgatroyd revealed that she and her husband Maks Chmerkovskiy lost a pregnancy.

The disclosure was made when Murgatroyd, 35, described how she learned she had miscarried while her 42-year-old husband Maks was traveling in Ukraine.

‘Yet we are made to feel it is something to bear alone and secretly with some kind of sense of failure. Instead of receiving the much needed compassion and empathy and healing which we so need.’

She concluded her letter by writing, “Female health and wellbeing left to the care of the male ideology has become lax at best, stupid in actuality, and fiercely oppressive in attempt.”

Quinn, Laird, and Roan, Stone’s three adopted sons, are now her children.

Her post was published immediately before the Supreme Court officially reversed its 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling, a significant decision that has been upheld in the country for more than 50 years until Friday. Many people in Hollywood and elsewhere were outraged by the announcement, which reignited public debates about women’s access to healthcare and physical autonomy.

It’s not the first time Sharon Stone has discussed a sensitive, private issue.

In a frank discussion of her losses from the previous year, Stone complimented the “global sisterhood” for now openly discussing “topics of loss and pain.”
