After supporters of the Azimio candidates started fighting in front of former prime minister Raila Odinga, the rally in Garissa County was shaken by chaos and anarchy.
The event took place on Monday at Masalani, where Raila Odinga was holding a rally to raise support for his candidacy ahead of the election on August 9.
Following a confrontation between supporters of previous governor Nathif Jama of the Orange Democratic Movement and those of Garissa Governor Ali Korane of the Jubilee party, chaos broke out (ODM).
Police were able to stop the violence, but several individuals were hurt and property was destroyed.
Several lawmakers who support Deputy President William Ruto have been accusing Raila of being a guy of mayhem and violence everywhere he goes to the campaign, which has left Raila on the defensive over the past few months.
