Former prime minister Raila Odinga has advised Kevin Mbuvi Kioko alias Bahati, a candidate for the Jubilee Party in the Mathare constituency, to drop out of the campaign in order to avoid competing against ODM contender Antony Oluoch.

In order to offer Azimio and the ODM party a better chance to defeat the Kenya Kwanza team, Raila asked Bahati to withdraw from the contest through ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna.

Bahati must get out of the campaign, according to Sifuna, because even surveys done in the Mathare constituency don’t show him as the favorite.

However, since Bahati is currently trailing in the polls, it is currently a wait-and-see situation as to whether he will agree to get out of the race.

After being rejected for the Jubilee party ticket in April, Bahati sobbed in front of the public before President Uhuru Kenyatta intervened and gave him the ticket for the ruling party.
