Raila Odinga, the presidential candidate for the Azimio One Kenya Alliance, was had to seek refuge at a police station in Garissa County on Monday after unrest broke out during his rally in Masalani.
Following a confrontation between supporters of previous governor Nathif Jama of the Orange Democratic Movement and those of Garissa Governor Ali Korane of the Jubilee party, chaos broke out (ODM).
Police were able to end the violence, but not before vast amounts of seating were destroyed and numerous individuals were hurt.
The event occurs a day after the same turmoil, which was caused by supporters of the Azimio candidates fighting in front of Raila Odinga at the Raila rally in Mandera County on Saturday, was witnessed.
Supporters of Hussein Weytan of the ODM and those of Mandera East Member of Parliament Omar Maalim battled in Mandera.
