The identity of the presidential contender that First Lady Margaret Kenyatta will support in August has been made public by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen.
Four candidates, including former prime minister Raila Odinga, vice president William Ruto, presidential candidate George Wajackoyah of the Roots Party, and leader of the Agano party David Mwaure, have been approved by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to run for the presidency in August.
To successor President Uhuru Kenyatta, who will step down in August, the four candidates have launched a vigorous campaign.
Uhuru has already endorsed Raila Odinga, claiming that he is the greatest choice to succeed him and carry out his plan for Kenyan growth.
But Murkomen, a close friend of Ruto’s, asserts that Uhuru is only backing Raila Odinga since even his wife Margaret Kenyatta is backing William Ruto, the nominee of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
Murkomen predicted on Thursday that Margaret Kenyatta will support Kenya Kwanza.
