Margaret Kenyatta, the wife of President Uhuru Kenyatta, might be endorsing William Ruto’s presidential campaign against her husband’s wishes.
Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, who made the astonishing assertion that the First Lady was in fact in Kenya Kwanza, revealed this.
Speaking yesterday at the funeral for the mother of former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, Murkomen asserted that Kenya Kwanza was guaranteed Margaret’s support in the general election on August 9.
The politician claimed that following a dispute with the DP, which led to the creation of the United Democratic Alliance, President Uhuru Kenyatta had fled to Azimio alone.
“Uhuru is the only member of Azimio, and we are confident Margaret will support us in the election. Her very face conveys it. Uhuru Kenyatta is the one we should ask for change for.
He said, “I believe we are winning the next election by 65 percent and above if we add with those we decamped with and those in the new alliance.
Margaret has never made a public declaration of her preferred political party and has consistently avoided the political spotlight.
After Uhuru won the elections while working with the DP, she was appointed First Lady of Kenya in 2013. Uhuru has supported Raila Odinga for president of Azimio after the breakdown between the two presidents.
