Yesterday, Raila Odinga’s wife, Ida, met with Polycarp Igathe, the Azimio candidate for governor of Nairobi, and the two had a lengthy conversation.
Just a few months after Raila supported Igathe for the Nairobi seat, I went to see Mama Ida at her Lavington offices.
Various concerns affecting women in Nairobi were discussed by the two, particularly how to include more women in leadership roles, according to insiders.
If elected governor, Igathe promised to put women’s interests first by addressing the water problem, which among other things impacts many women.
In a same vein, he committed to strive for the county’s health facilities’ improvement and commended Raila’s plan to implement Baba Care as president if elected in August.
Ida commended Igathe and asserted that he was the ideal guide for Nairobi’s transformation.
She urged Nairobi residents to support Igathe for genuine change.
