If the survey conducted by Mizani Africa Limited is to be believed, Kakamega County Senator Cleophas Malala should begin preparing to return home in August.
Malala is one of four candidates running for governor of Kakamega County.
While Ferdinand Barasa is running on the Orange Democratic Movement, Malala is utilizing the ANC to run for the seat (ODM).
According to the Mizani survey, Mr. Fernandes Barasa would defeat Malala with 53.5 percent of the votes polled if elections were held today.
Michael Osundwa and Samuel Omukoko each received 0.9 percent, while Cyrus Jirongo came in third with 5.4 percent.
Only 0.2% of respondents were unsure.
A total of 1568 respondents from the 12 constituencies that make up Kakamega County participated in the poll by Mizani Africa, which was conducted between June 17 and June 20.
