On Monday, one of the four mutilated bodies discovered abandoned in Kijabe Forest was positively identified as being the body of prominent Kenyan blogger and social media personality Frank Obegi.
Obegi’s body was positively recognized at the City Mortuary, according to a close friend of his, who also said that his family only found out the tragic news after the news story was broadcast on Sunday night, June 19.

Obegi had not disclosed any threats against his life, according to his brother.
Adamson Furaha, the police chief in Lari, confirmed the murder occurrence and said detectives had been sent out to find the perpetrators, who are thought to have tortured the victims and left extensive incisions and missing private parts on their bodies.
Preliminary investigations, according to the police chief, indicate that the many homicides were committed elsewhere before the remains were transported to the woodland.
“We believe the four were slain somewhere else and their remains placed here. Deep neck wounds and sliced private parts were present on all four bodies. Because this is new to the area, we are now terrified, a Lari resident told the newspaper.
