A Thai woman acknowledged to paying the shooter who killed her husband, saying authorities that she had become enraged by his numerous relationships and regular physical violence.

According to Pol Maj Gen Phutthidej Boonkraphue, the division’s commander, Charoensri Thongkham, 41, was detained by Economic Crime Suppression Division police on Tuesday in front of Na Suksabai Thai Traditional Massage in Bangkok’s Bang Khen district.

The Chaiya District Court in Surat Thani had issued an arrest order for Charoensri in 2014.

She was accused of orchestrating her husband’s homicide, theft, and violations of the Firearms Act.

When CSD investigators tracked her down she was working as a masseuse in Bang Khen district, and was arrested there on Tuesday June 14.

Ms. Charoensri admitted to police after questioning that she had been married to her husband for 11 years.

Ms. Charoensri claimed that her spouse had changed considerably and started having affairs with other women. She said that he had given those women money that she had earned and spent it.

She claimed that she found out what was going on after learning that they had a history of fights and that he had frequently hit her.

She claimed that despite how much she loved him, she hired a gunman to kill him first out of fear that he may kill her someday because he frequently carried a pistol. She spent 100,000 baht on it.

A five-baht gold necklace and her husband’s rifle are among the items the assassin is accused of taking when he killed her husband. Before she could be arrested, she ran away to Bangkok.

Police have Ms. Charoensri in their care.
