Deputy President William Ruto’s political stronghold in the Rift Valley, a major Azimio-One Kenya Alliance leader from the area has acknowledged that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s running partner, Martha Karua, has generated a favorable wave there.
According to Alex Tolgos, the governor of Elgeyo Marakwet County, Raila can win 40% of the votes cast in the Rift Valley in August as a result of Karua’s entry into Azimio.
Tolgos claimed that this was demonstrated on Sunday when a sizable crowd greeted Karua, who was rallying support for Azimio.
Additionally, the Governor asserted that Raila Odinga is the only presidential contender who can end the ongoing livestock rustling in the North Rift.
Odinga is the only person with boundaries and the capacity to find solutions that our ranchers have been seeking, according to Tolgos.
For the Senate seat in Elgeyo Marakwet, Tolgos is challenging incumbent Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, and pollsters anticipate a close contest in August.
