Kariri Njama, a Jubilee Party candidate in the Kiambaa constituency, left the ruling party and joined Deputy President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance, giving Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential campaign a significant boost.

Kariri, who lost to United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate Njuguna Wanjiku in the by-election in Kiambaa last year, stated in an interview with Kameme FM on Tuesday that he has chosen to support DP Ruto after doing some soul-searching and listening to the community.

As Kariri Njamba, I still believe that returning home is the greatest option. The greatest course of action for me as a future politician was to have William Samoei Ruto on my side, stated Njama.

He assertively acknowledged that neither President Uhuru Kenyatta nor even the leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, Raila Odinga, could make decisions on behalf of the citizens of Mount Kenya.

“You cannot make decisions for Kikuyu when they desire to move forward. When the results of the presidential election are released on August 11th, those individuals should get ready for a major embarrassment, he said.
