Isaac Ruto, a former governor of Bomet, lost his mother.
Mama Jane Tirop passed away on Tuesday morning while getting treatment at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret, according to a statement from Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) Secretary-General Albert Koech.
“It is with a heavy heart that I inform Governor Isaac Ruto, Party Leader of CCM, of the demise of Mama Jane Tirop, his cherished mother. On Tuesday morning, June 14, 2022, at MTRH Eldoret, Mama Jane departed to be with the Lord, according to Koech.
The CCM Secretary-General made the announcement that all party campaigns will be suspended in the wake of Mama Tirop’s passing.
When Ruto’s mother passed away, the CCM leader was actively campaigning in Bomet for the county’s top seat in the August elections.
On Monday, Ruto stated that he is committed to improving production at the grassroots level while also providing chances for women and young people.
The CCM leader is also endorsing William Ruto, a presidential candidate for the United Democratic Movement (UDM), in the forthcoming general election.
