After receiving harsh jeers in Ruiru, Kiambu County, Sabina Chege, the woman representative for Murang’a County, wished the earth would split open and devour her on Saturday.
In order to bring the Mt. Kenya region together before the August 9th election, Sabina was among the Mt. Kenya leaders that attended a gathering in Ruiru sponsored by TV and FM stations.
When Sabina pushed Mount Kenya people to back former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s presidential campaign in August, trouble ensued.
She angered the crowd with her comments, which led to their jeering her. Muigai Njoroge, a well-known Kikuyu musician, intervened to stop them.
Deputy President William Ruto is running for president in August, and Muigai urged locals to support him in his address. This prompted the audience to loudly applaud.
Ruto has a strong following throughout the region, according to the most recent Mizani Africa poll.
