Mwangi Kiunjuri, the former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary, has made a remark indicating that he may soon abandon Deputy President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
Mwangi, who is also the leader of The Service Party (TSP), advised Kenya Kwanza leaders led by Ruto to mimic former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja Alliance’s planning method, saying that the openness had helped the Raila-Odinga-faction gain tremendous popularity at the grassroots level.
“You’ll observe that we’re continually battling in our Kenya Kwanza alliance, while the other side in Azimio – they’ve prepared their government.” They are aware of who will be who and what will be done by whoever. Even insiders like myself in Kenya Kwanza are unaware of what is going on,” the former Agriculture CS stated.
Kiunjuri went on to refer to Azimio as his coalition, urging Nyandarua villagers to support their bid in what was viewed as a slip of the tongue.
“As country leaders within Azimio, we have determined that Mt Kenya will elect the best leaders from all counties, including Nyandarua, Laikipia, and Meru.” This is because such leaders will lobby in parliament for our interests.” According to Kiunjuri.
