The presidential election of 2022 was expected to be a two-horse fight between Raila Odinga of the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition Party and William Ruto of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

Dynamics are certain to shift now that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has allowed four candidates to compete in the presidential election.

According to a random poll conducted by political analyst David Makali, both Ruto and Raila should be concerned about the growing support of George Wajackoyah, the presidential candidate of the Roots Party.

Wajackoyah came in third in the poll held on Wednesday, June 8, with 16 percent of the 44,955 respondents supporting his presidential campaign.

William Ruto, the presidential candidate of the Kenya Kwanza alliance, received 45 percent of the vote in the poll.

According to Makali’s poll, Raila Odinga, who is running for president for the fifth time, would receive 38 percent of the vote if elections were conducted today, while Waihiga Mwaura would receive only 1%.

According to the survey’s conclusions, the presidential election in 2022 will go to a run-off because none of the frontrunners will receive 50 percent plus one, as required by the Constitution for a winner to be declared in round one.

Many Kenyans who support Wajackoyah appear to agree with the survey’s conclusions, with some predicting that he will overcome the ODM leader.

“Raila must work hard because at the rate Wajakoyah is approaching, he may request Uhuru to deport him like Miguna, but where will he deport him?” A random Kenyan named George Kimani expressed his opinion.

Moses Kuria, the Gatundu South MP, also took to social media to imply that Wajackoyah’s platform could force the country into a runoff election.

The presidential candidate of the Roots Party has been campaigning on the issue of legalizing bhang in Kenya.

He recently got Kenyans talking when he said that if he wins the August elections, his government will start snake farming to harvest the poison needed to make snake medicine.

“Like the Chinese, we have a lot of snake eaters.” One of the ways we’ll pay off the Chinese debt is to extract the poison from the snakes and feed it to the Chinese, instructing them to eat the meat and pay off the bill.” In an interview, Wajackoyah stated.
