Prof George Wajakoyah, the presidential candidate of the Roots Party, is not a candidate to be underestimated in the presidential election on August 9th, according to a recent opinion survey done by renowned journalist David Makali.
For the past two years, political analysts have described the 2022 presidential election as a two-horse fight between former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who is running for the Azimio party, and Deputy President William Ruto, who is running for the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
However, with Wajackoyah’s entry, things appear to be shifting, and the race may now be a three-horse race.
In the survey, Makali invited Kenyans to choose between Raila, Ruto, Mwaura Waihiga, and Wajackoyah for the presidency in August.
Over 44,000 Kenyans took part in the voting, with Ruto and his running mate Rigathi Gachagua receiving 45.5 percent of the vote. Prof Wajackoyah and his running partner Ruth Wamae came in third with 16.7%, while Raila and his running mate Martha Karua came in second with 37.7%. Mwaura came in fourth place with 0.8 percent of the vote.
