Senator Samson Cherargei of Nandi County has chimed in on the recently released Infotrak opinion poll, which predicted that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga would defeat Deputy President William Ruto in the August 9th election.

According to the poll, Raila Odinga will win the election with 42% of the vote, while Ruto will finish in second with 38%.

Raila will receive 9.3 million votes, while Ruto will receive 8.4 million, according to the polling agency.

“We conducted the poll from May 27 to May 29 and performed 9,000 interviews throughout all 47 counties.” According to Infotrak CEO Angela Ambitho, “290 constituencies were covered with a margin of + or – 1.”

In response to the poll, Cherargei, a close supporter of DP Ruto, cast cold water on it, claiming that Raila Odinga has led in all opinion polls since 1997 but has lost in all elections.

The actual election, according to the senator, will take place on August 9th, when all Kenyans will up and vote for their presidential candidate.

“Raila has led in every opinion surveys since 1997, yet he has lost every election since then; 2022 will be his sixth election loss.”
