Just days before the August 9th General Elections, Interior PS Karanja Kibicho has begun a new front of conflict with Deputy President William Ruto.

The PS, along with ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru, has been accused of plotting to rig the presidential election on August 9th in favor of Raila Odinga of the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance.

This came after Kibicho claimed that data from the National Intelligence Service (NIS) indicated Raila Odinga will win the presidential election with 60% of the vote.

However, William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) filed a complaint with the Intelligence Service Complaints Board on June 7th, alleging “misuse of national security organs” to advance Raila Odinga’s political goals.

“Kenya’s stability is important for the country’s long-term survival. Part of the letter reads, “A free and democratic election is a crucial pillar in ensuring this stability and security.”

Ruto accused Kibicho of “unlawful, unconstitutional, and reckless use of intelligence” information to further the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance’s interests in the upcoming elections through Mutuma Gichuru and Associates.

During an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday last week, Kibicho predicted that Raila Odinga, the leader of the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition, would win the president in round one.

“It’s a first-round victory.” This is intelligence data, and it’s indicating that. “It’s around 60%,” Kibicho stated.

Kibicho claims that as a government official, he has the authority to do so.
