Kanye West, an American rapper, is taking a break from the music industry, according to one of his collaborators.
In a new interview with Complex, rapper Vory, who collaborated with West on the song Daylight, revealed that the 45-year-old hip hop icon is ‘taking a year off’ to focus on ‘battling his own s***.’
In the interview, Vory, 24, stated, “I was just chatting to [Kanye] today.” ‘We’ve been communicating through my best friend, who also happens to be his assistant, because he hasn’t wanted to speak to anyone.’
‘He’s taking a year off, and he was like, “Damn, do you think Vory would be furious at me if I don’t show up to his release party?” ‘I was like, ‘Nah, you’re straight, bro,” he explained.
Vory claimed, ‘He’s fighting his own s***,’ before adding, ‘That’s my dog, I learned a lot from him.’
The revelation that the rapper had broken up with his Instagram model girlfriend, Chaney Jones, coincided with the publication of Vory’s interview.
After a vacation to Japan, he and the 24-year-old beauty went their separate ways, according to TMZ.
Kanye had been seeing actress Julia Fox before moving on with the Kim Kardashian–lookalike.
