She was refused admittance into RUTO’s Karen home because she “looked like a chokora,” but now she is one step closer to being a member of Parliament.

Lilian Chepkorir, a little-known politician, made headlines in November 2021 after being barred from William Ruto’s official Karen residence.

Chepkorir, who is running for Bomet Women Rep, showed up at William Ruto’s official residence, where the Democratic Party (DP) had held a meeting with aspirants seeking elected positions through the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

However, when she arrived at the gate, the 24-year-old woman was denied entry to DP Ruto’s Karen home on the grounds that she was not dressed in official aspirant clothing.

Linet became an internet phenomenon once more in April 2022, when she won the Bomet Woman Representative UDA primary on Thursday, April 14.

Chepkorir praised the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for clearing her for the Woman Rep position in the August 9 General Elections on Twitter on Monday.

“It’s official: I’m running for office.” “God willing, I’ll be a Woman Representative for Bomet County in August,” she stated.

Her approval comes just a month after the young lawmaker was elected to the UDA ticket by the Bomet Women Representatives.

Toto defeated nine other candidates in the fight for the UDA ticked, emerging victorious despite opposition supporters reportedly kicking her agents out of polling places in Sigor and Kapsubul.

Chepokorir praised the inhabitants of Bomet for nominating her to run for the Women’s Representative seat in the upcoming August elections in a statement.

“We have triumphed!” Thank you very much to the residents of Bomet for endorsing my candidacy for the UDA Women’s Representative position. I am a living testimony to God’s majesty. God’s blessings on you. Chepkorir said, “I adore you.”

Joyce Korir, the incumbent Bomet Woman Representative, changed her base to run for the Bomet Central Parliamentary seat, and she will now be looking to replace her.
