In the presidential election on August 9, Deputy President William Ruto has named Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki as his Chief Agent.

Kithure would be aided by UDA secretary-general Veronica Maina and Josphat Nanok, according to Ruto, who spoke at the Bomas of Kenya after being cleared by the IEBC.

“Mr. Chairman, I want to assure you that we are available whenever you require our assistance. I’ve appointed a professional liaison who will be responsible. Professor Kithure Kindiki, Veronica Maina, and Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok will serve as our Chief Agents, according to Ruto.

The chosen team, according to the Deputy President, would ensure effective communication between Kenya Kwanza and the IEBC.

Kithure’s promotion to Chief Agent may appear to be a step back, given that he was manipulated out of the running mate post after defeating everyone, including Ruto’s running partner Rigathi Gachagua.

Meanwhile, the DP stated that the Kenya Kwanza team has faith in the IEBC ahead of the August elections.

“Mr. Chairman, Kenya kwanza trusts the IEBC. I also want to pledge that my Kenya kwanza team and I would work tirelessly with you to ensure a free, fair, and transparent election. Mr. Chairman, I want to assure you that we are available whenever you require our assistance or support in any form,” Ruto added.
