In Masimba, Kajiado County, the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) has initiated an investigation into the deaths of four persons.
IPOA said in a press release on Friday that a rapid reaction team has been formed to look into the deaths of four people and the injuries of others that were allegedly caused by police actions.

The team plans to gather information that will help them learn more about the events that led up to the shooting.

“Where fault is found after the investigations, the Authority shall make recommendations, including but not limited to prosecution.” “The IPOA is committed to remaining independent, unbiased, and fair,” the organization stated.

On June 2, the four perished from gunshot wounds sustained during a confrontation between GSU officers and Masimba villagers.

Other individuals were hurt as a result of the police unit’s efforts to disperse residents protesting an unresolved human-wildlife conflict in the region.

Eight people are alleged to have died as a result of the human-wildlife conflict in just three months.
