Raila Odinga, the Azimio presidential candidate, and Martha Karua, his running mate, may never return to Rift Valley.
This comes after they were deemed persona not grata in the Rift Valley, Deputy President William Ruto’s region, and their billboard in Bomet County was demolished.
Philip Etale, the ODM party’s Director of Communications, posted photographs of the defaced billboard on social media, alleging one of DP Ruto’s allies of being the perpetrator.
“Per MP Belgut Nelson Koech and MCA Kapsoit Paul Tarimbo’s orders… But don’t worry, the billboard will be back up soon enough. We’re not going to back down now. “We are Azimio, and we will always be Azimio,” Etale claimed.
Some social media users also chastised those responsible for the destruction, claiming that it was a prescription for bloodshed, given that both Ruto and Raila are expected to win the August elections.
“This political intolerance and antiquated behavior must be put to an end!” Ruto’s fans vandalized a RAOKA billboard in Bomet, according to Duncan Makori, a Twitter user.
Raila’s billboard was vandalized just days after supporters of William Ruto shared photographs of a vandalized billboard in Kisumu with the image of the United Democratic Alliance presidential flag bearer.
