Martha Karua, the running companion of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, has welcomed Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka back to the Azimio alliance.
Karua said she was looking forward to working with the former Vice President in a tweet on Thursday evening.
She also expressed regret for missing Kalonzo’s homecoming to Azimio rally the day before.
She expressed regret for not being able to make the Mukuru kwa Njenga rally in Nairobi on time.
“Welcome home, Kalonzo Musyoka, my brother and buddy.” On this final lap, we look forward to working together under the leadership of our captain Raila Odinga.”
“I wasn’t able to make it back to Nairobi in time for the rally,” she explained, “but my heart was with you.”
Kalonzo, on the other side, congratulated Karua on being chosen as Raila Odinga’s running mate.
“I’d also like to congratulate Hon. Martha Wangari Karua on her nomination as the deputy president nominee of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party,” the Wiper leader said.
In addition, if Azimio wins the August elections, the former Vice President accepted Odinga’s offer of Chief Ministership.
“As a result, following extensive consultation with the Party Leadership, clerics, and professionals, I have chosen to accept my nomination as Chief Minister in the Azimio One Kenya when, not if, we form the government,” Kalonzo stated.
