The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has reacted to allegations of vote manipulation made by Deputy President William Ruto.

The Wafula Chebukati-led panel, in a statement, refuted Ruto’s claim that almost one million voters from his strongholds had been deleted from the electoral rolls.

There was no data breach, according to Chebukati, and the records were protected.

By June 9, 2022, according to Chebukati, all voters will be registered.

“I want to reassure Kenyans that their personal information is secure and that no data breaches have occurred.” “We had 19.6 million voters in 2017, and now we have a database of 22.5 million or more that is duplicated and under audit,” Wafula said.

IEBC CEO Hussein Marjan, on the other hand, stated that any voter transfer made without a form will be revoked.

“Each and every transfer has a log of who did it.” The register is the responsibility of the returning officer, and administrative action will be taken against them, with the severe consequence being dismissal,” Marjan stated.

Those who claim to have been removed from the IEBC registry were challenged by the IEBC CEO to show up at their facilities with the necessary documents.

DP Ruto claimed that up to a million voters from his strongholds had been purged from the IEBC register during a meeting with European Union Ambassadors on Thursday.
