Miguna Miguna, a self-declared general in the National Resistance Movement (NRM), has disclosed how Deputy President William Ruto received millions of votes at Wednesday’s Madaraka Day festivities at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi.
President Uhuru Kenyatta refused to allow Ruto to speak at the ceremony, and even First Lady Margaret Kenyatta declined to welcome him.
Miguna compared the episode to the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta’s reign, when the late President, Mbiyu Koinanage, and Njenga Mungai used to humiliate Jomo’s deputy, late President Daniel Arap Moi.
Ruto, like Moi before him, will come to the throne despite threats and intimidation, according to Miguna.
He claims that many Kenyans sympathize with Ruto and will vote for him in August.
“Both Uhuru Kenyatta and his wife Margaret Kenyatta snub, belittle, and humiliate @WilliamsRutoin in public, much as Jomo Kenyatta, Njenga Mungai, and Mbiyu Koinange degraded Moi.”
“The more they do, the more MILLIONS of SYMPATHY VOTES @WilliamsRutogets,” Miguna posted on Twitter.
