Boni Khalwale, a former Kakamega senator and passionate supporter of Kenya Kwanza coalition presidential candidate William Ruto, has lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta’s development record.

The UDA lawmaker congratulated the President for coming up with the initiative in a statement released yesterday immediately after driving on the renowned Nairobi Expressway.

Khalwale, who is running for the Kakamega Senatorial seat on Ruto’s UDA ticket, said that driving from Mlolongo to Westlands took him less than 10 minutes.

“I am happy to be a Kenyan today, as I take my first drive on the Nairobi freeway.” 9 minutes from Mlolongo to Westlands! What an adventure!”

“I extend my congratulations to President Uhuru Kenyatta. In a Tweet, Khalwale stated, “The Engineers made a major error by delinking the CBD from this game-changer.”

The Nairobi Expressway runs from Mlolongo in Machakos County to the city’s Westlands district, passing past the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

It promises to alleviate traffic congestion in one of the world’s most congested cities.
