What to Expect From Madaraka Day Celebrations

Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Wonie Bio and his wife Fatima Bio, who are on a five-day official visit to Kenya, will attend President Uhuru Kenyatta’s last Madaraka Day ceremonies as Head of State on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, the ceremony will kick off at 9 a.m. with the entrance of visitors at the Uhuru Gardens.

Around 10 a.m., the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Kibochi, will arrive, followed by service commanders.

On Wednesday, the ceremony will kick off at 9 a.m. with the entrance of visitors at the Uhuru Gardens.

Around 10 a.m., the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Kibochi, will arrive, followed by service commanders.

After the National Anthem and the East African Community Anthem, President Kenyatta will examine the Guard of Honour before walking to the Presidential dais.

Following that, contingents of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and the National Police Service (NPS) will march by.

Following a mechanised column drive by, a flyover by KDF aircraft, and prayers, Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu will offer welcome comments.

Following that, Deputy President William Ruto will speak before inviting the President to speak to the nation.

With his remarks, President Kenyatta will bring the day’s events to an end.
