Kenya’s Military Might On Display At Madaraka Day Celebrations

During Wednesday’s Madaraka Day celebrations, the Kenya Defence Forces stunned the nation with a breathtaking, albeit unusual display of military force.
The National Anthem and the East African Community Anthem were played shortly after President Uhuru Kenyatta mounted the Presidential dais to review the Guard of Honour.

Then there was KDF. Kenyans were in for a treat, from the Border Patrol Unit’s armoured vehicles to the Engineers Brigade’s water well drilling machinery, excavators, and bulldozers.

Armoured personnel vehicles and 81mm mortars from the Infantry, as well as machine guns from the army Special Operations Brigade, are among the military armaments on display.

The KDF’s Armoured Brigade also showed off its reconnaissance vehicles and main combat tanks, while the Artillery Brigade showed off their weaponry, which were all moving in an arrowhead formation.

Kenya Navy combat boats atop flatbed trucks provided a unique look into their world, albeit on land.

On the other hand, the Air Force brought their Grob, Harbin Y-12, PZL M28 Skytruck, Dash 8, and Alenia C-27J Spartan aircraft, among others
