Two women claiming to be Samuel Muvota’s wives have submitted police testimony. Muvota was shot dead on Mirema Drive on Monday, May 16.
Salome Wairimu, 28, of Githurai 45, recorded her statement with the Kasarani DCI on Saturday, while Anne Wanja, 32, of Kahawa Wendani, did so on Monday.

They were summoned by detectives when it was discovered that they had frequent communication with the dead.

Wairimu, who works at a Githurai 44 mobile money shop, told police she met Mr.Muvota in March and fell in love with him. They started dating soon after that.

She claimed Muvota informed her that he worked for the Ministry of Livestock. Muvota paid her rent and sent her upkeep money for an entire year.

Wanja, for her part, stated that she met Mugota about two years ago at a Nairobi nightclub. He introduced himself as a Nairobi car dealer who was unmarried, according to her.

Muvota, like Wairimu, offered to pay her rent and cover her child’s school fees but would ignore her requests to make their relationship official.

The two women said the deceased never stayed at their homes and always claimed to be on business trips.

Wanja and Wairimu join the list of Muvota’s ‘wives’ who have come forward since Winnie Wambui recorded her statement. She lives on Kenyatta Road in Kiambu County.
