Detectives confiscated a package of cocaine worth Sh 100 million and arrested a woman from a house in Utange, Mombasa County, yesterday.
According to the DCI, the suspect, Nuru Murshid Mahfud, 29, was apprehended by sleuths from the Transnational Organized Crimes and Anti-Narcotics divisions during an operation.
The pills were wrapped in 35 sachets and hidden in bags.
The suspect now works at Volume VIP Club, a high-end entertainment establishment owned by former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.
Even while detectives pledge to capture Sonko’s accomplices, it is unclear whether she is linked to the seized drugs.
Blogger Robert Alai recently accused Sonko of selling drugs at his fancy club and urged authorities to investigate.
