Martha Karua, the chairwoman of Narc Kenya, took the Azimio La Umoja Alliance’s campaign to her home county of Kirinyaga on Tuesday, where she drummed up support for former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s presidential ambition in August.
Karua’s visit to the county served as a sort of homecoming for her, as she was named Raila Odinga’s running mate on Monday.
Karua, who was accompanied by Mt Kenya Jubilee Party officials, paid a courageous visit to 13 towns in Kirinyaga County.
Karua, on the other hand, was heckled in Kutus town by youngsters yelling Ruto’s name and screaming UDA slogans.
The area MCA’s efforts to calm the youth fell on deaf ears, leaving Karua and her staff dissatisfied.
Kanini Kega, a Kieni Member of Parliament, and Jeremia Kioni, his Ndaragwa counterpart, observed Karua being heckled in her hometown in bewilderment.
