During the burial of Deputy President William Ruto’s running mate Rigathi Gachagua’s brother yesterday, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen left everyone perplexed.
This comes after he surprised many, including Ruto, by campaigning for Azimio presidential contender Raila Odinga.
During the funeral service for James Reriani Gachagua, the outspoken senator urged residents of Mathira to vote for the ODM leader.
Murkomen, a harsh critic of the opposition leader, declared in his address that it was evident to him that they would vote for Raila, adding that they would not be confused by a cherry on top of the cake to make it look more appealing.
“Now we know who we’re going to vote for.” Raila Odinga is our candidate. He won’t be able to perplex us by attempting to perplex Kenyans with a cherry on top. “We have a lot of clarity in our heads,” Murkome remarked.
It’s another story for another day whether this was a simple slip of the tongue or deliberate.
Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru made a grammatical error last month when she mistook Deputy President William Ruto for ODM leader Raila Odinga.
A parliamentary candidate from Busia County caused a commotion in February when he wrongly stirred up support for Raila during Deputy President William Ruto’s rally.
My name is Bernard Nyandieki, and I will be taking over as Nambale MP from John Bunyasi. “I implore you all to vote for Azimio,” he concluded to applause from the audience
