Purity Wangechi, a Kenya Institute of Mass Communication student, was killed after requesting her DJ boyfriend to repay money he had obtained fraudulently.

VDJ Flex – actual name John Wanyoike Kibungi – was part of a con gang who stole from unsuspecting Kenyans, according to Purity’s close friend who sought anonymity.

“Wangechi received a text message from an unknown person shortly before her death. This person requested that she inform her boyfriend, VDJ Flex, to repay her money “according to the source

The lady had allegedly lost Ksh 70,000 to VDJ Flex and demanded her money back.

These text messages, which she received just hours before her death, contributed to her argument with VDJ Flex before she was discovered stabbed numerous times and abandoned on a roadside in Kiambu county.

“When Purity questioned her lover about the charges, he did not refute them,” the insider continued.

Purity proceeded to get her driver’s license on her last day, according to her buddy, before traveling over to her boyfriend’s house to get her possessions.

“”We just started getting concerned when she didn’t return at 5 p.m.,” the buddy stated. That’s when I phoned my boyfriend, who informed me that they were on their way to Naivasha and that everything was well.”

Purity had been killed and left by the highway the same weekend, they subsequently learnt.

VDJ Flexx and two accomplices, Kinaiya Kamau and Brendan Muchiri, were charged Monday morning in Kiambu law courts.

The suspects will be held in custody for 14 days while investigators complete their investigations, according to the court. Over the weekend, they were arrested and arraigned in court.

Meanwhile, a fourth suspect was apprehended in the gruesome murder of the 19-year-old student yesterday.

Isaac Kariuki Kibui, 22, was apprehended at the Thindigua Delish Nail bar in Kiambu and transported to his home, where a thorough search revealed a blood-stained jacket worn by the suspect on the night of the murder.

The jacket will be forensically examined by professionals to determine whether the bloodstains match samples obtained from the deceased by their crime scene counterparts.

Kibui’s arrest brings the total number of suspects in the gruesome murder to four.

Wangechi, 19, died a horrible death after discovering that the man she had fallen in love with was a dangerous thug and confronting him, according to investigations.
