Yesterday’s announcement of Martha Karua as Raila Odinga’s running mate was marred by drama after Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka failed to show up, only to emerge at the Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka Centre with a bombshell announcing his withdrawal from the Azimio-One Kenya Alliance.
Not only that, but KANU Chairman Gideon Moi made a brief appearance at Raila’s ceremony before leaving to join Kalonzo Musyoka, which raised a lot of eyebrows.
Gideon Moi, on the other hand, has broken his quiet by attending Kalonzo’s press conference when he announced his presidential ambition.
Gideon stated at the KICC that he is staying in Azimio through his KANU Secretary General Nick Salat.
He reaffirmed his loyalty to the Azimio la Umoja spirit and stated that he had no intention of leaving the coalition party.
Salat claims that KANU will unconditionally support Azimio as flag bearer.
He stated that KANU will not support Kalonzo Musyoka for president.
“Whatever happens, we’re staying in Azimio for the long term.” Those who believe differently are in for an unpleasant awakening. Salat proposed Baba for President.
