Following the announcement by former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka that he will run for President in August, Deputy President William Ruto has broken his lengthy quiet.
Kalonzo dropped out of the Azimio-One Kenya Alliance on Monday and announced his presidential run for August.

In response to Kalonzo’s action, Ruto alleged that Kalonzo’s indecisiveness was harming his political career through United Democratic Alliance Secretary-General Veronica Maina.

Maina stated in an appearance on Citizen TV on Tuesday that Kalonzo had broken his word in the past and that his choice to run for president was a spur-of-the-moment decision.

“He had stated that he would not come before the Azimio la Umoja selection panel, but he nonetheless did.”

“Everyone was astonished when he showed up,” Maina said.

“You need a very stable and somewhat predictable style of leadership in governance so that your members can feel consistent,” Maina noted.
