Kithure Kindiki, the former Senate Deputy Speaker and Tharaka Nithi Senator, has stepped down from politics after failing to be chosen as Deputy President William Ruto’s running mate.
This comes after Ruto chose Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua over Kindiki for the running mate position.
Kindiki, on the other hand, has promised to die with Ruto, despite cheating him out of the running mate seat to everyone’s amazement, including the DP’s.
Kindiki told the press yesterday that despite the crimes done against him, he will continue to campaign for Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua.
Simultaneously, the soft-spoken law professor stated that he does not seek any political office at this moment, though he did express his willingness to serve the country in the future.
“As of August 10, I’ve decided to take a vacation from active politics.” I’ve decided to stay with UDA and the Kenya Kwanza Alliance after some soul-searching. I have given my complete support for Rigathi Gachagua, Kenya Kwanza’s running mate, and DP William Ruto, our party’s leader.”
“I will continue to play my role in the campaign and submit to the leadership of the party, including my opponent, who is now the vice president-designate,” Kindiki said.
He claimed that his decision to stay was inspired by his belief in the Kenya Kwanza team, saying that he would rather not score for a winning team than for a losing one.
